Ryan Damitio

My name is Ryan Damitio, i am the Long Snapper at Presentation College. I am on both academic and athletic scholarship here at PC, pursuing an Exercise Science Degree and a Coaching minor. I started snapping when I was going into my junior year. My high school coach told me they were gonna have me long snap. Originally it was just to fill a spot, but I took it as a opportunity to make it my thing. After about 6 months of watching videos, I started working with Mike Dunham, founder of "Dunham Long Snapping". I worked day in and day out, nothing was given to me - I had to WORK for it. Going into my senior year of high school, I had just wrapped up a great college camp season. I was on the radar of a lot of big schools, but the job was not finished so I kept WORKING. In November of my senior year, I lost every opportunity to play Division 1 College football and I was stuck with nothing, but PC took a chance on me. Now that I am here, I've earned the spot as a true freshman starting Long Snapper. But that doesn't mean the job is finished, gotta keep WORKING. My why has always been the same: my Mom. I made a promise I would play College Football, and that is not stopping anytime soon. Unfortunately she is not here to see it, but i know she is proud of the WORK i have put in. Coming from the state of Washington, I didn't have the outreach I needed but I worked and got my name out there. Something i used a lot to get my name out there was consistently posting Snapping videos on Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms. As a Long Snapper, I needed to get myself out there, because I couldn't afford to go to the expensive specialist camps. But I found the right people to help me, and got my name out there. I am very passionate about what I do, I come to work everyday and I love it. Not a lot of people can say that about what they do. I believe the work is never finished and there is always room to improve no matter where you are. I am proud of being a Long Snapper, WE CHANGE THE GAME!
